Luka from Alien Stage is best typed as an ENFJ when it comes to Carl Jung’s Psychological Types. Although interpretations of Luka as Introverted Intuition (Ni) dominant are prevalent due to his calm, controlled, and strategic nature, such things can be attributed to Extraverted Feeling (Fe) dominance when examined through the framework of Carl Jung’s Chapter X of Psychological Types rather than modern stereotypes. Since Luka is a fictional character with an indefinite backstory, this analysis remains interpretive rather than a definitive psychological classification. The dominant function of ENFJ is Extraverted Feeling (Fe), which Jung describes as being oriented towards objective reality, collective values, and adapting to social environments. Such people focus on evaluating social scenarios in order to produce “correct” emotional responses. Luka demonstrates this perfectly, constantly adapting to deadly scenarios throughout the entirety of Alien Stage. Luka, rather than viewing the world subjectively or judging the world through logical frameworks, is focused on aligning himself with societal values in order to survive the harsh world around him. While Jung has described Extraverted Feeling (Fe) as an expressive, open type that likes to form harmonious bonds, he conversely describes such individuals as cold and “unfeeling" when they fully assimilate into the collective. Luka perfectly represents this unhealthy state, fully reflecting the ruthless nature of alien high society to the point of depersonalization. The auxiliary function of ENFJ is Introverted Intuition (Ni), which Jung describes as oriented towards subjective images, hidden meanings, and a view of that world that is detached from objective reality. While Luka is dominated by his need to follow societal rules, under that lies a unique and twisted personal world that goes unseen by most. This can be seen with his romanticized view of Hyuna and his relationship with her, which he is deeply possessive of. Luka displays even more psychological patterns that align with Introverted Intuition (Ni). He is shown to have remarkable psychological foresight, having the ability to predict certain behavior with frightening accuracy. Throughout Alien Stage, Luka’s strategy to deal with his opponents is to get into their heads in order to cause them to lose. For this, he uses this foresight on them, being able to read them perfectly and manipulate the situation in his favor. The two functions that are used the least in ENFJ’s stacks are Extraverted Sensing (Se) and Introverted Thinking (Ti). Starting with Extraverted Sensing, which orients itself towards objective reality and perceiving things as they are. Luka primarily uses this with Extraverted Feeling and Introverted Intuition, to collect objective information on others through using material evidence and funneling it back through Fe and Ni. He has an ability to preserve physical details such as expressions and environments that complement both functions remarkably. Although Luka is very intelligent and calculating, Introverted Thinking is his inferior function, which is primarily used against other humans rather than questioning the world around him. Luka uses Ti to analyze his opponents and their motivations so he can eliminate them. Unlike higher Ti users, his personal logical framework is subdued by his Fe which suppresses such subjectivity. Some people interpret him as an INFJ due to him being a strategic planner and having a mysterious aura. However, Jung has distinctly distinguished the difference between long term planning and Ni. While Luka possesses remarkable intuition, it comes secondary to his Fe due to his need to submit to external values. On top of this, Jung has described Extraverted Feeling as a type that can have ulterior motives when unhealthy which feeds into the mystery of Luka. Others interpret him as an INTJ due to his emotional detachment and cruelty. While Extraverted Thinking seems like a function that could fit Luka due to his strategic thinking, his thinking isn't oriented towards efficiency or objective reality, rather it is subjective and personal. Also, it's important to reiterate that Fe doesn’t inherently correlate to kindness. As Jung has stated, an Extraverted Feelers fixation on the objective values can give them a certain coldness. Viewed through Carl Jung’s Psychological framework of the ENFJ. As dominant Extraverted Feeler, he represents the type in an unhealthy state which allows misidentification as other types. In spite of this, Luka is a character who focuses on assimilating and adapting to objective values and that his personal obsessions and perceptions of the world come secondary to this with sensing and thinking in lower positions. Although much more about Luka’s character remains to be explored, I believe the modern MBTI type ENFJ provides a more satisfying interpretation for his character rather than INFJ or INTJ.
